This notice says what this site collects, why, and who sees it. Our lawyer is reviewing it, and we will update this page when anything changes.
The short version
We keep what you tell us so a coordinator can call you and, if it is a good fit, introduce you to someone. We never ask about anyone’s health. We do not sell or share what you give us. You can see and change your details, and ask us to delete everything, at any time.
What this website collects on its own
No advertising pixels, no session recording, no heatmaps, and nothing that tracks you from site to site.
If you sign in to your account, the site sets one cookie to keep you signed in. It ends when you sign out or close your browser. If you do not sign in, this site sets no cookies of its own.
Our hosting provider operates a security layer in front of the site that may set a cookie of its own to tell people apart from automated traffic. That is theirs, not ours, and we do not read it.
What you tell us
When you fill in the questions to get started, we keep:
- Your name, phone number, email address and the best time to call.
- Whether you are a homeowner, a family member, someone looking for housing, or an organization.
- About the home: its ZIP code, whether there is a private room and bathroom, pets, and what kind of help would make life easier.
- Your answers about daily routines and sharing a home, which help a coordinator suggest a good match.
- For someone looking for housing: the referral code from the organization that referred you, and what that organization told us about you.
- The date you sent your answers and which version of the questions you answered.
The first questions ask whether anyone in the home needs help we do not provide, such as personal or medical care. We use your answers to say whether we can help, and then throw them away. We keep only whether we could go ahead.
Your account
If you give us an email address, we make an account for you. You sign in with a link we email you; there is no password. In your account you can see where things are up to, change your details, and add photos if you want to.
Photos are optional. We remove the location and camera details from every photo when you add it. Only you and our coordinators can see your photos, and the person you are matched with once you are matched. We never use photos to decide who to introduce.
When you change your details, we keep a note of what changed and when, so your coordinator knows.
What we never ask
We do not ask about diagnoses, conditions, symptoms, medications, mobility, memory, falls, allergies, or anything else about anyone’s health. Not in our questions, not in your account, and not in any field we store.
Who else sees it
Our coordinators see what you tell us so they can call you and suggest matches. When we introduce two people, each learns what they need to meet the other, and nothing more.
We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. These companies handle it for us, act only on our instructions, and may not use it for anything else:
- WP Engine, which hosts this site and stores what you tell us.
- Postmark, which sends the emails you get from us, such as sign-in links and updates.
- Kit, which keeps the list of people waiting for us to open in their area, if you asked to be on it.
We would hand something over if a court ordered it.
Seeing, changing and deleting
Sign in to see and change your details. To have everything deleted, choose Delete your account, or write to us. A coordinator will confirm with you first and then delete your answers, photos, messages and account. You can also ask for a copy of everything we hold about you.
Emails about the waiting list have an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
